MSBKN recently conducted a successful meeting on "Rural Women Leadership Development Program." This meeting aimed to assess program progress, share experiences, and plan for future activities to empower rural women.
The meeting, held from 29th June to 2nd July 2023 at Dhulikhel Village Resort, gathered 6 central staff members and 52 field staff members from various districts. The participants engaged in fruitful discussions and brainstorming sessions.
Day 1 began with a warm welcome by ED Kavita Gurung, followed by a review of the recent refresher training on climate change. The participatory rural appraisal tool received high praise for its effectiveness. Strategic planning updates were presented, focusing on the program's vision and objectives.
On Day 2, Ameet Dhakal discussed the program's accomplishments and upcoming institutional changes. The Deputy Mayor of Banepa shared insights into legal rights and provisions for women. Participants actively contributed to brainstorming programs for Phase VIII.
Day 3 involved planning for the next six months, recognizing and honoring outstanding Village Women's Groups (VWGs), and conducting a need assessment survey for Phase VIII.
The final day centred on finalising the criteria for the deserving VWG award, planning a one-day campaign on male engagement and programs for adolescent boys and girls. Core leaders completed planning forms for remaining programs.
The meeting concluded with an action plan for the next six months and preparations for Phase VIII. MSBKN's Program Review and Planning Meeting successfully paved the way for empowering rural women and fostering sustainable impact.
