Nepal Earthquake 2015: A Devastating Blow

Nepal Flooding 2021: Nurturing Hope Amidst Adversity

In 2015, an earthquake wreaked havoc in six of the twelve working districts of MSBKN, leaving a trail of destruction in Sindhupalchok, Dolakha, Lalitpur, Kavre-Palanchok, Tanahu, and Lamjung. The impact was heartbreaking as families lost loved ones, and both MSBKN's dedicated staff and members were deeply affected by the trauma. In response, MSBKN swiftly joined forces with esteemed organizations like CSRC (Community Self-Reliance Center) and TAF (The Asia Foundation) to provide urgent relief to pregnant and maternal women. We extended our support by distributing vital essentials such as blankets, mosquito nets, food products, clothing, mats, and tarps to the affected communities. Furthermore, our disaster management initiatives proved crucial as we distributed relief materials worth Rs 17,47,685 to empower the impacted areas. These remarkable efforts were made possible through the coordination and funding support of CSRC, TMF (The McConnell Foundation), and TAF.

In February 2021, the serene region of Melamchi, one of MSBKN's working areas, was tragically struck by a devastating flood. Determined to stand by the side of the flood-affected women and children, we swiftly mobilized our resources and distributed relief packages worth Rs 1,37,961. These essential relief materials encompassed sleeping mats, slippers, and clothes, providing solace and support to those in need.Together, we demonstrate unwavering resilience and compassion, ensuring that the most vulnerable members of our communities receive the support they desperately need in times of crisis. Through our collective efforts, we are rebuilding lives and fostering hope for a brighter future.
