Our Work
Empowering women's economic journey
Entrepreneurship Skills Development Training
Through our observations, we recognized that while social awareness training empowered women in social aspects, there was a need for resources to achieve economic independence. With a specific focus on women engaged in subsistence farming or small-scale businesses, our goal was to help them carve their own identities and gain financial strength through entrepreneurship development training. Our aim is to enable women to invest in income-generating activities and attain their economic aspirations. We firmly believe that women possess the potential to be powerful agents of change in their communities, and entrepreneurship serves as a vital avenue for achieving economic empowerment and fostering sustainable development. To that end, we have conducted entrepreneurship skills development training for 356 women. Our comprehensive training program is designed to equip women with the knowledge and skills they need to establish and expand successful businesses. We cover various essential topics during the entrepreneurship skills development training, including identifying the most suitable business for their area, conducting market research, business planning, and effective marketing and sales strategies. By providing women with these essential tools, we empower them to confidently navigate the entrepreneurial landscape and achieve economic success.
Economic Empowerment Fund (EEP Fund)
To foster accountability among VWG members, we have introduced a self-investment requirement as part of our Economic Empowerment Fund (EEP Fund). This means that before receiving matching funds from our organization, members are required to contribute their own funds, with the self-collection amount not exceeding 1000 Rupees. The amount of matching funds provided is determined based on the funds collected by the VWG members. Through this approach, we have been providing matching funds as capital revolving funds in all our VWGs, enabling economic independence through income-generating activities. Till now, we have disbursed a total of four crores (3 crores for Wave I areas and 1 crore for Wave II areas) from MSBKN. The EEP Fund has played a pivotal role in empowering women to take control of their economic destinies and create sustainable change within their communities.
